We have been stocking Helly Hansen clothing for around 4 months now and so we thought we would introduce some detail about the brand and why we chose to stock them.
Born in Norway, 1877, Helly Hansen is a brand that aims to develop professional-grade gear that helps people stay safe and feel alive. The brand is named after Helly Juell Hansen, who was a sea captain that wanted to create gear that that would help protect his sailors from the harsh, Nordic weather. Helly Hansen is also well known for their performance ski apparel, as well as for their premium work-wear. Their ski clothing is of high quality, and are worn by over 50,000 professionals, making it the #1 ski apparel.
In 2018, Helly Hansen announced that they partnered up with the RNLI, and will be supporting them for the next 5 years through a variety of life-saving activities. These include delivering drowning prevention messages, supporting fundraising and safety campaigns and supplying the very best kit to the RNLI's lifesavers. The aim of the partnership is to help people stay and feel alive.
As Cactws is located in a seaside town on the Welsh coast, with an RNLI station not far from us, we liked the idea of supporting a brand that supported crews and lifeguards that help save lives in our area. Since 1824, the RNLI has saved over 142,200 lives, which is an amazing achievement.
