CARHARTT WIP x ILL-STUDIO Sedimental Works – 50 Years of the Active Jacket

Created to mark 50 years of the iconic Active Jacket, Sedimental Works is a limited-edition small-format book produced in collaboration with ILL-STUDIO. The publication explores five decades of cultural and stylistic flux through the lens of a single garment that has remained largely unchanged.

Blending fashion, art, and literary storytelling, the book features a series of semi-fictional texts reflecting different eras from the past 50 years. Contributing writers include Scott King, Brad Phillips, Benjamin Krusling, Alissa Bennett, Lynne Tillman, Alex Quicho, Christelle Oyiri, Geoffrey Mak, Paul Dalla Rosa, and Chris Kraus.

Part archival reflection, part creative reimagining, Sedimental Works positions the Active Jacket as both garment and cultural artefact — a constant within shifting social landscapes.
